My First Single Is Out: “Welcome to My Perfect Life”

After years of writing, speaking, mentoring, and advocating for digital empowerment, I’ve taken a step I never imagined I would: I’ve released my first original single.

It’s called “Welcome to My Perfect Life.”

This song is a deeply personal reflection on how we construct and curate our identities online—how we present the version of ourselves we think the world wants to see. It speaks to that tension between the filtered, polished version we post and the raw, imperfect truth we often keep hidden.

Like many of us, I’ve had moments where I carefully chose what to share online—photos from events where I was invited to speak, awards received, articles published, places I’ve been, food I’ve tried, and moments that felt “worth posting.” As time passed, I found myself using filters to look slimmer or younger, smoothing out features, and sometimes pausing before sharing at all. Eventually, I started asking myself: Who am I doing this for? What am I trying to prove?

“Welcome to My Perfect Life” was born from those questions.

The song explores the idea of digital masks—the way we hide behind technology, not just to protect ourselves, but sometimes to escape who we really are. The lyrics speak of the endless possibilities we have to reinvent ourselves online, and the loneliness that can come when we don’t feel safe enough to be real.

I intentionally kept the vocals raw and imperfect. I didn’t want the emotion to be polished out of the song. I wanted listeners to hear the hesitation, the conflict, and the truth.

To bring this vision to life, I collaborated with Cerise Limueco, who helped with the musical composition and arrangement. The final track was mastered using Cryo Mix, an AI-based mastering tool. I used TuneCore to distribute it across major streaming platforms and Canva to create visual content for social media promotion. Each step of the process was a learning journey—one that showed me how accessible music creation has become thanks to today’s digital tools.

But more than the tech, this song is a story—a message to anyone who has ever felt not good enough, who has ever hidden behind a smile or a filter, who has ever wondered if they’d still be liked if they showed their true self.
