2nd Single is Out: “I Am the Villain” – A Song About the Pain Behind the Mask

Today, I’m excited to release my second single, “I Am the Villain.”

This song is not your typical empowerment anthem. It is darker, more uncomfortable, and intentionally honest. It takes the perspective of someone we often fear, dislike, or avoid online—the cyberbully, the digital troll, the voice in the comments that cuts deep.

But rather than painting this person as a heartless villain, I wanted to ask a harder question: What if that cruelty hides something deeper?

Why I Wrote This Song

In recent years, I’ve seen how easily people turn pain into entertainment. Whether it’s a celebrity scandal, a kiss cam controversy, or a private family matter made public, social media rarely shows compassion.

People like Carlos Yulo, who faced family conflict in the middle of his Olympic journey, became a topic of judgment rather than support. The Coldplay kiss cam couple faced a digital firing squad. We feast on others’ pain, but often ignore our own.

That reflection stuck with me. And so I created “I Am the Villain”—not to excuse the pain we inflict online, but to explore where it might come from.

The Heart of the Song

The lyrics begin with force. The voice is sharp, mocking, and unapologetic.

“I twist every moment / Just to watch you break…”

But slowly, the tone shifts. The villain’s voice falters. Vulnerability surfaces.

“Maybe I tear you down / To feel less alone…”

By the bridge, the mask starts to crack.

“I just wanna be known.”

This is where the story turns. And this is why I wrote the song—not to defend digital cruelty, but to ask what it might be covering up. Hurt people often hurt people. And until we understand that, we’ll continue to repeat the same cycle online.

How You Can Support

Listen to the song on your favorite platform:

Share your thoughts: What do you see behind the “villain” in your digital world?

Let’s Talk About It

If “I Am the Villain” sparks something in you—whether discomfort, curiosity, or even healing—I hope you’ll talk about it. Share the song. Start conversations. And most of all, remember that what we say online has a real impact.

This is just one story. But maybe it can be the beginning of many more.

Thank you for listening.

Song Lyrics

Verse 1:

I am the nightmare
In your digital space
I twist every moment
Just to watch you break

When you’re smiling
I sharpen my tone
Tear through your captions
From behind my phone

Refrain 1:
I don’t care what you feel
Or if your world crashes down
gonna make some noise
So hear my sound

Chorus:
I I I
I am the villain
Of the digital world
Will rob your peace
With every comment and word
(2x)

Verse 2:
I laugh at your filters
Mock your fame and flaws
You pretend you’re flawless
But I see through it all

I scream in your spotlight
A shadow with no name
Feeding on perfection
While drowning in shame

Refrain 2:

But what if I get mad
coz no one ever asked?
And I break others
to forget my past?

Chorus:

I I I
I am the villain
Of the digital world

I I I
Will rob your peace
With every comment and word
(2x)

Bridge:

Maybe I am angry
At a world I can’t control
Maybe I’ll tear you down
To feel less alone

Final Chorus:

I I I
Still wear the mask
Of the digital world
I I I
But underneath
I just wanna be known
